Pet Care

On-Line Vets and Pet Health Resources

Many times people will ask their friends or a pet shop about a pet's medical condition. While it's nice to talk to our friends or chat about our pets - especially if they have had similar experiences - do remember that they usually are not medically trained to help - even with the best intentions. And often, advice told second hand can be misinterpreted or misleading. If you want a second veterinary opinion, you are confused about a term or condition your vet has mentioned or you aren't even sure if your pet's problem is worth visiting the vet - try these online resources. They have been written by veterinarians especially to help people like you - and your pets.

Advice on Behaviour and Training for Pets and Owners

So, you want to "fix" your dog's barking problem or "stop" your bird biting - well here's some bad news… nothing is ever that easy- there’s some training to be done! Before you can train your pet, you need to understand their language, their point of view. Then you need to train yourself, learn how to change your own behaviour and the pet's enviroment in order to train them.

But don't worry, although there are no “quick fixes” – it’s not as hard as it sounds and training can be fun and very rewarding. There are also some excellent resources out there to help. Here are some we’ve found to start you off:
